About the Role
This role focuses on analyzing and reporting cybersecurity incidents, particularly those involving supply chain compromises and critical vulnerabilities in widely-used technologies. The position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, incident response, and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and report on cybersecurity breaches, such as the GitHub breach via a poisoned VS Code extension.
- Analyze the exploitation of critical vulnerabilities, including the recent NGINX flaw.
- Track and document supply chain compromises, such as the TanStack incident affecting GitHub and Grafana Labs.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats and their impact on the tech industry.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to provide insights and recommendations.
- Develop detailed reports and articles summarizing findings for a technical audience.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cybersecurity incident response and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain vulnerabilities and their exploitation.
- Familiarity with popular developer tools and platforms, such as VS Code and NGINX.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
