About the Role
Gold Group, a leading network solutions provider in Sheffield, England, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team. This role involves diagnosing and resolving network issues across customer sites, supporting the deployment of new internet connections, and providing 2nd and 3rd line technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues for customers, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and software configuration problems
- Assist in the deployment of new internet connections, ensuring seamless integration with customer infrastructure
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to customers, escalating complex issues as needed
- Collaborate closely with customer IT teams, ISPs, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient problem-solving and service delivery
- Maintain network documentation and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures
- Participate in the implementation of network upgrades and improvements to enhance system performance and reliability
- Provide on-call support as needed to ensure prompt resolution of critical network incidents
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of network technologies and protocols
- Proficient in the diagnosis and resolution of network issues, including experience with troubleshooting tools and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with customers, ISPs, and internal teams
- Familiarity with network security best practices and the ability to implement appropriate measures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex network problems
- Relevant certifications, such as CCNA or JNCIA, are preferred
