About the Role
This role focuses on leading and advancing Jimdo’s Product Design function amid the company’s expansion into a multiproduct platform with maturing AI capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Establish a clear design direction that elevates product experience quality, clarity, and consistency, aligned with the needs of solopreneurs and micro-businesses.
- Position design as a key collaborator in defining problems and shaping product strategy, beyond mere execution of solutions.
- Drive the adoption of AI-enabled design practices to accelerate workflows, minimize low-value iterations, and boost customer outcomes while preserving design craft.
- Manage and refine the design system in partnership with Product and Engineering teams, ensuring it supports consistency, scalability, and innovation.
- Adopt a comprehensive perspective on the end-to-end customer journey, spanning product interactions and broader lifecycle stages.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to align product experiences with content, narratives, and visual identity.
- Guide, mentor, and expand a senior Product Design team, cultivating a culture of excellence, curiosity, and ongoing development, while partnering with Product and Engineering leaders on discovery, prioritization, and delivery.
Requirements
- Senior leadership background in building and scaling high-performing product design teams within tech environments.
- A pronounced perspective on user-centered design principles, including simplicity and usability for constrained user segments like small businesses.
- Proven expertise in developing design systems and enhancing experience quality across the full customer journey at scale.
- Hands-on experience incorporating AI tools into design processes to optimize speed, efficiency, and results.
- Strong empathy for solopreneurs, micro-businesses, or similar customer groups, combined with comfort navigating product, brand, content, and lifecycle design.
- Excellent collaboration abilities, systems thinking, high standards, refined taste, and the skill to elevate performance without generating unnecessary conflict, including optimizing for conversions while maintaining usability.
