About the Role

This role involves serving as a Sales Engineer for Liquibase, the leader in database release automation. The position requires managing the technical aspects of the sales process for Liquibase’s enterprise prospects, collaborating closely with the sales team to drive customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively work with Regional Sales Managers to develop account plans combining business and technology strategies.
  • Take accountability for all technical issues during pre-sales engagements with potential customers.
  • Manage the “technology” side of the sales process, developing technical strategies and tactics for Liquibase solutions, and resolving all technology issues throughout the enterprise sales cycle.
  • Develop and deliver customer-specific, solution-oriented presentations and demonstrations.
  • Demonstrate Liquibase solutions and technology to all levels within an organization.
  • Develop strategies, manage, and assist in the execution of solution evaluations to prove Liquibase solutions fulfill business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Understand prospects’ business processes, information flows, business/technical issues and challenges, and competitive pressures.
  • Uncover specific business/technical problems and design solutions that link to clearly defined business value by applying Liquibase products toward solving those problems.
  • Architect innovative solutions leveraging third-party and Liquibase technologies that lead to new use cases and revenue opportunities.
  • Remain a current contributor to team-learning initiatives and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Management Information Systems (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of successful pre-sales experience at an enterprise software company, with a deep understanding of the sales lifecycle for enterprise software.
  • Experience running proof-of-value engagements focused on measurable customer outcomes, not just feature validation.
  • Experience working within a sales organization and being responsible for the technical aspects of the sales cycle.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% (US-based, East Coast preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps/Agile processes.
  • Experience with cloud computing and related technologies and practices.
  • Experience with two or more database platforms: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages – shell, Ruby, Groovy.
