About the Role
Join Vee Technologies as a Product Engineering Operations Director in this fully remote position, where you’ll drive technical leadership across mechanical, automotive, maritime, and industrial engineering projects. Partnering closely with clients and offshore delivery teams, you’ll ensure seamless project execution, from interpreting requirements to delivering innovative engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and offshore delivery teams, ensuring alignment on project objectives, timelines, and quality standards in mechanical and industrial engineering domains.
- Lead the development of client projects by reviewing engineering drawings, interpreting RFQs, and translating technical requirements into actionable plans using tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients and internal teams to clarify scope, provide status updates, address concerns, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with clients and suppliers to negotiate design specifications, technical requirements, and cost estimates, optimizing for cost efficiency and production volumes in automotive and maritime sectors.
- Assess and improve manufacturing processes, including process documentation, operational manuals, and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Leverage engineering expertise to develop conceptual solutions, design new equipment, and redesign systems, addressing unique requirements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct technical reviews, oversee corrective actions, and perform in-depth analyses to drive continuous improvement and ensure adherence to contractual agreements.
- Partner with sales teams for smooth project transitions, build strong client relationships, and provide leadership in navigating complex engineering challenges for consistent results.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in automotive, mechanical, maritime, or industrial engineering, with a focus on project management and client delivery.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, AutoCAD, and engineering design applications, including GD&T, statistical tolerancing, and should-costing modeling.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining client relationships, identifying technical opportunities, and delivering customer-specific engineering solutions.
- Demonstrated success managing and collaborating with offshore delivery teams in a global engineering environment.
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, coupled with strong organizational and time-management abilities for handling multiple projects.
- Natural leadership qualities, with initiative in problem-solving, process optimization, and driving continuous improvement in engineering operations.
