About the Role

Join Mangomint, the highest-rated SaaS platform for salons and spas in the US and Canada, as a Senior Software Engineer on our Connect Engineering team. You’ll build and scale mission-critical communication systems—including emails, texting, and phone calls—that power seamless customer experiences. This full-stack role focuses on designing reliable features, integrating with external providers, and enhancing operational efficiency as we expand our market-leading salon management software.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative features across the full stack, from data design and backend APIs to frontend React UI, mobile applications, and HTML/CSS styling.
• Integrate and optimize third-party services for emails, texting, and phone communications, ensuring high reliability and comprehensive observability.
• Scale backend systems using Kotlin/JVM, PostgreSQL, and AWS services like RDS, SQS, Lambda, and EC2/EB to support growing customer bases.
• Enhance frontend experiences with TypeScript, React, and Sass/CSS to deliver intuitive interfaces for salon and spa professionals.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes to accelerate development and iteration in our fast-paced SaaS environment.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues across services, maintaining a stable, efficient, and resilient infrastructure for thousands of users.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance technical excellence with business priorities in building scalable salon software solutions.
• Monitor and optimize system performance to handle increased usage, integrations, and complexity in the beauty industry SaaS landscape.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally as a Senior Software Engineer at a SaaS company.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, C#, or Ruby, with a focus on backend and REST API development.
• Strong full-stack skills, including frontend technologies like React, TypeScript, and CSS/Sass, to work as a versatile generalist.
• Proven track record of building maintainable systems that balance simplicity, flexibility, and scalability in dynamic environments.
• Experience integrating external services and APIs, with the ability to quickly learn and stitch together new technologies.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative, iterative settings, empathizing with teammates, stakeholders, and customers in the salon and spa sector.
• Skilled in end-to-end project delivery, prioritizing technical, business, and user needs while debugging complex production issues.
