Clash of Clans June 2025 Update: Dark Days Season Overview
An update might be coming in June for Clash of Clans based on the Dark Days season calendar. On the 1st of June, the first challenge level of the month runs until the 8th, and the icon clearly shows for those who remember the controllable heroes challenges that in this one, players will be able to direct heroes across the map. The Clan War Leagues also start on the first of the month, as ever, alongside the Gold Pass season challenges.
On the 8th of the month, when the first challenge level expires, a second challenge level begins, and in the past, whenever there have been two challenge levels throughout the month, it has been to feature something from a medal event, whether that be equipment or a temporary troop. The image here is of the Minion Prince, but moving along to the medal event on the 10th, it then shows the Grand Warden, so no real information here as to new epic equipment or temporary troops, but the season calendar is just a bit of a tease as to what is coming in the month.
That is certainly what the next item shows because it’s just a question mark; there is some sort of vault with gold inside, but no information for this one. This is likely something to do with an update; in the past couple of years, there has been an update in June, since in July it is the summer holiday in Finland, so updates are not normally released around that time. The final thing on the calendar, which is there every month, is the Clan Games.
Hero Skins and Scenery

Royal Champion: Showtime Champion
The hero skins and scenery releasing in June start with the Royal Champion, available first via the Gold Pass. Recently, all of the hero selection screens have been knocked out of the park, and all of them for this upcoming month are loved. For example, the Showtime Champion has the audience watching, and she even has that little pet skeleton that follows her into battle. The attack animation is fairly standard, but the Seeking Shield looks cool, throwing the vinyl record with the glow behind it, and even though that little skeleton doesn’t do anything in the attack, it certainly looks very concerned in the knockdown animation for the Royal Champion.
Dark Days Scenery
The next cosmetic available is the Dark Days scenery on the 3rd of the month; being a standard scenery, this will be $6.99. This one is liked; it is dull, there’s nothing too bright, so on a night it is quite easy on the eye, but a lot is going on. Being New York-themed for this mafia-style season, there is the Archer Queen as the Statue of Liberty, and one thing that is loved is that even the center tile in the village is changed to fit—very subtle, but appreciated.
The way the village seamlessly moves into the scenery is also liked, and there is a lot of action happening, but there’s nothing too much that it catches the eye and puts off, so all in all, this scenery is a big favorite. It might not be used all of the time, mainly because sometimes a bright and vibrant village is preferred, but this one is quite chill for an evening while playing the game.
Archer Queen Skin
On the 5th of the month, the Archer Queen skin is available. While the selection animation for all of these heroes looks great, one thing that isn’t liked, and it’s been like this a little bit in recent times, is when this is shown within the Hero Hall or now within the army screen; she looks out of position and just needs to be moved across that little bit to be centralized. Hopefully, they can readjust some of those.
When it comes to her attack animation, it’s liked when animations are changed; this one looks cool with the bullets, but it does make it hard to see, and the Archer Queen is one of those heroes that isn’t the easiest to detect amid the battle while all of the other troops are moving through. While the effect when it hits the building is also unique, it’s hard to identify. Something like the Magic Queen, where the arrow flying to the building can be seen, is much preferred. Her knockdown animation is fairly standard, just dropping her weapon, but at least a lot of the animations have been different recently in that regard.
Barbarian King: Butcher Skin
The next hero skin available is for the Barbarian King on the 7th of the month, and the Butcher skin, appearance-wise, is one of the best aesthetically; it looks awesome. The attack animation is fairly standard, swiping through with the machete, but the knockdown animation, when it just pierces him with the purple blood, is a little bit unique. There are no custom Barbarians if using the Barbarian Puppet, but this is something seen in recent months, and not many people at higher levels use the equipment, so, understandably, time is not put into customizing all of those.
Grand Warden: Grand Godfather
The Grand Godfather is the favorite out of all of these hero skins because of how unique it makes the Grand Warden. His attack animation looks so different, stepping forward to aim and fire his weapon, and while it is not super clear to see, like mentioned for the Archer Queen, it doesn’t matter for the Grand Warden because of the aura; it’s very easy to identify where he is on the map, so having that unique attack animation is just fantastic.
When it comes to the Air Warden, it’s unclear whether this is just from the dev build, but it does seem that he’s using his spell book, maybe to fire the weapon, which looks a little bit strange. However, skin-wise, this one is the favorite.
Minion Prince: Minion Cop
The final one is for the Minion Prince, available on the 11th of the month. The Minion Cop has his little sidekick as well; the attack animation is a little bit more subtle than the regular Minion Prince skin. The Minion General attack animation was a favorite, but it is cool to have the monkey helping out as well.
There are no custom Henchmen if using that equipment; this hasn’t been seen in any of the other Minion Prince skins, and it’s a similar situation to the Barbarians and Archers. However, the knockdown animation for the Minion Prince is just such a good way to round out the cosmetics for this month, trying to wake up the Minion Prince—all he needs is a revive spell. That is everything coming in June.
