China Beckons Wonder Travelers

Most western travelers think of visiting China for the cultural experiences and they wouldn’t be wrong in doing so.  Each of the different regions of the country provide diverse culinary experiences that usually leave travelers wanting to come back for more.

China is also home to an abundance of natural and historical attractions that are worthy of world wide recognition.  Topping the list is the Great Wall of China.  The established national park is located outside Beijing and is easily accessible fro travelers of all types.  The more adventurous can trek the wall up the hill and look back over this magnificent structure.

The Terracotta Army located in the Lintong District of northwest China is another wonder of the world.  The 8,000 warrior sculptures standing approximately 6 feet high along with the 520 horses, 130 chariots, and the 150 cavalry horses easily make it one of the official 7 Wonders of Asia.  This archaeological world wonder features offices, halls, stables, and an imperial park.  Collectively, there are over 6,000 figures on display.

The Forbidden City Palace and surrounding compound in Beijing, China is one of the world’s best preserved ancient wooden structures. It is a historical world wonder representing the imperial palace since the Ming dynasty through the end of the Qing Dynasty, a period lasting from 1420-1912.

Along with these historical and cultural wonders, China is also home to amazing encounters with nature.  The adorable giant pandas can be seen frolicking amongst the trees and vegetation of Giant Panda National Park.  This park combined multiple protected areas to establish one larger national park that allows these gentle creatures to roam about in safety.

Don’t forget the mystic mountains in Guangshan National park which os locally known as the yellow mountain.  The range of mountains varies in height reaching a summit of 6,115 feet (1,864 m) at the highest point.  This peak is on Lotus Mountain with other notable summits including Bright Peak and Celestial Peak.
