Sony TV Soundbars
When it comes to soundbars for your television, Sony TV Soundbars has several models. Among them are HT-S200F, HT-A7000, HT-A9, and HT-Z9F. Let’s look at each one and see how they compare.
HT-S200F
The Sony HT-S200F is a 2.1-channel TV soundbar with an integrated subwoofer that is compact and easy to set up. It uses S-Force Pro-front-surround front-surround technology and Bluetooth connectivity to provide a seamless connection to your TV. Its compact size and built-in subwoofer make it an attractive space-saving solution.
To use the Sound Bar, connect your TV’s optical digital audio output terminal to the Sound Bar’s optical input terminal. If you’re using an external device, connect it using an audio cable. Once connected, turn the TV’s audio output setting to the audio system.
After preparing the TV for use, connect the soundbar to the TV using an optical cable or an HDMI cable. An analog cable is not recommended because it will not provide quality audio. Connecting the TV to the soundbar also requires a proper power supply. Using a TV with an HDMI port and a corresponding HDMI cable is recommended.
Remote control: The Sony HT-S200F TV sound bar works with a universal remote control. You need to have an IR-capable mobile device to use the remote control. Then, download the app for your phone. After installing the remote control app, open the app and turn on the soundbar. The universal remote works similarly, sending the remote control signal from the mobile device to the soundbar. The proximity between the two devices also enhances this connection.
HT-A7000
The Sony HT-A7000 TV soundbar features an OLED front panel display to show you the volume level, sound mode, and input. There is also an on-screen user interface for fine-tuning settings. This device is plug-and-play, with a USB port, HDMI in/out, and analog audio in/out. It also supports S-CENTER OUT for compatible BRAVIA models.
The Sony HT-A7000 supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos, and it can upconvert non-Dolby Atmos content into 3D surround sound. This is accomplished by a clever AE algorithm, which automatically adds overhead sound to stereo or conventional surround soundtracks. This technology enables the system to create immersive sound experiences for users.
Another great feature of the Sony HT-A7000 is its support for Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. It also supports Spotify Connect. The Sony HT-A7000 is also compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. These capabilities aren’t built in but are available as optional add-ons.
The Sony HT-A7000 TV soundbar has numerous other features, including several built-in sound modes and a high-quality subwoofer. Depending on the content you’re watching, these features may be sufficient for your needs. The A7000 also comes with a corresponding remote control.
The Sony HT-A7000 also supports Bluetooth Transmitter Mode, enabling you to connect several Bluetooth-enabled devices. You can use the soundbar to play music through Spotify Connect or DLNA. Using this feature, you can even control audio volume through Bluetooth headphones. The only limitation is that you can’t use Bluetooth Transmitter Mode and Bluetooth Receiver Mode simultaneously. Neither feature works with the built-in Chromecast.
The build quality of the Sony HT-A7000 is impressive. It’s mostly made of plastic, but it has a metal grille in the front that protects the speakers. It also comes with a glass top that provides a premium finish. However, it would help if you kept in mind that the unit is quite heavy and bulky.
HT-A9
Sony’s new HT-A9 TV soundbar system is a complete home theater system that includes a hub and four bookshelf-sized loudspeakers. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X so that you can get immersive surround sound experiences. Plus, it includes a matching powered subwoofer.
The A9 is compatible with Sony Bravia TVs, though it’s unnecessary. It supports Acoustic Center Sync, which turns your television into a center channel speaker. Although the A9 TV speakers sound great, their timbre doesn’t blend in with the rest of your audio system.
The Sony HT-A9 TV soundbar is classified as a soundbar, but its audio performance puts it in the upper echelon of soundbars. Combined with a subwoofer, it produces a rich, immersive sound. It’s capable of Dolby Atmos, and the sound staging is exceptional. The subwoofer, an SW-5, is included in the package.
Setting up a soundbar can be tricky, but Sony makes it easy. It would help to connect the control box to your TV using HDMI eARC and a second HDMI input. Then, you can plug the wireless speakers into the soundbar. They look exactly like a regular set of speakers, but they’re wireless and labeled with their approximate position in the room.
Sony’s HT-A9 TV soundbar features several modes for optimal sound. For example, the Cinema mode is suitable for movies and music, while the Music mode aims to boost the center channel. It also has an Auto Sound feature, which changes the output automatically after detecting a signal. In addition, the soundbar supports Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Assistant. It’s also compatible with Spotify Connect.
The Sony HT-A9 TV soundbar also supports DTS: X and Dolby Atmos. It also supports many legacy formats, including LPCM and DTS. Its speakers support up to seven-and-a-half channels.
HT-Z9F
The Sony HT-Z9F TV soundbar comes with all the features you would expect from a premium television soundbar. It features a detachable grill, a microphone button, two HDMI inputs, an optical input, and a 3.5mm input. It also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS. Moreover, this soundbar is compatible with Google Home and Echo Dot.
It also comes with a remote control that allows you to select the sound mode to suit your needs. This feature allows you to adjust the background noise to hear the dialogue and music in crystal-clear detail. You can also use the remote to control your home cinema system. It is also compatible with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
There are several other options on the market today, but we like the Sony HT-Z9F for its affordability. It features a virtual surround system and a wireless subwoofer. Its price is much lower than the Sonos Arc, a premium option. However, the Sonos Arc has a more neutral sound profile and supports Dolby Atmos.
The Sony HT-Z9F offers plenty of connectivity options and has decent audio quality, but it doesn’t have enough speakers for a truly immersive experience. It also struggles to transmit big dramatic sounds. It’s worth noting that most soundbars are designed to replicate the experience of a cinema but can’t compare to the quality of music.
The Sony HT-Z9F offers a decent mix of features and is a good option for mixed usage. It offers a dedicated center channel speaker, a wireless subwoofer, and support for Dolby Atmos. It is also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled and supports Chromecast.
Polk Audio Signa S2
The Polk Audio Signa S2 for Sony TV is an excellent choice if you want a quality soundbar for your television. This soundbar offers room-filling surround sound and features a Dolby Digital decoding system. It can also be used as a Bluetooth wireless speaker and works with HDTVs and 4K televisions.
The Signa S2 sound bar offers Bluetooth compatibility, surround sound, and compatibility with both HD and 4K TVs. It fits easily into most living rooms and has a built-in Bluetooth and wireless subwoofer. It also has an HDMI port for connecting to your TV.
The soundbar is Bluetooth-enabled and is compatible with the majority of TV models. It delivers room-filling home theatre sound and has 340W of total power. It also includes features like VoiceAdjust that allow you to adjust the sound and deepen the bass impact. You can also use the MagniFi MAX wireless connectivity to stream music to your TV.
The Polk Audio SIGNA S2 is slightly better than the Sony HT-S350, but the sound profile is a bit over-excited. The Sony HT-S350 is less expensive, so a direct comparison may not be fair. The Sony HT-S350 performs better on max volume, but the SIGNA S2 has more detail and bass.
If you are planning to purchase a new soundbar for your Sony TV, the Polk Audio Signa S2 for Sony TV is the way to go. It has excellent surround sound and a 40-watt subwoofer. Its remote control has an exclusive feature that allows you to customize the volume of the vocal delivery. There are three different levels of boosting dialogue. This feature is handy when watching classic movies and playing games. It also has different sound settings, including movie, game, and night modes.
