Packing Like a Survivalist—What to Bring on Your Next Camping Trip

Camping is a great way to unwind and relax with your family or friends. It’s also an opportunity to get back in touch with nature, enjoy the fresh air, and make memories that last a lifetime. However, camping can sometimes be frustrating if you don’t have the right equipment or supplies.

Having the mindset of a survivalist when camping means keeping your essentials at the top of your mind. If you’re planning on camping soon, consider these five must-haves for your upcoming trip.

1. Backup Power Source

One of the biggest complaints about camping is that it’s not always convenient to charge your gadgets, but with a backup power source, you’ll be able to stay connected while enjoying nature.Portable power stations are a great way to charge multiple devices off-grid. They’re also easy to transport and store, so they won’t weigh you down or take up too much space in your tent.

2. Flashlight

Camping trips usually take place after dark, so having a flashlight, lantern, or headlamp is essential if you want to see anything through the night! A light source is one of the most critical items on this list because it can illuminate dark areas and help you find your way if you become lost. Make sure you have at least three extra batteries for your light, so there aren’t any interruptions in case of emergencies.

3. First Aid Kit

You never know what could happen while you’re out in the wilderness, so it’s essential to be prepared with afirst aid kit. The kit should contain bandages, gauze pads, antibiotic ointment, antiseptic wipes, and maybe even a snake bite kit (just in case). Accidents happen unexpectedly, so having all the necessary supplies on hand can make a big difference in an emergency.

4. Sleeping Pad

Sleeping pads are another important must-have for a camping trip. The ground can be hard when sleeping in a tent, especially camping on rocks or dirt. A sleeping pad will keep you comfortable and warm throughout the night so that you don’t wake up sore or with a stiff back. They also come in handy when it’s time to get up in the morning since they help give your body some extra cushion between you and the tent floor.

5. Bug Spray

When we think of camping, many people envision sitting around a campfire while telling stories, while others think of roasted marshmallows and hot dogs on sticks. However, many people don’t think about bugs! Mosquitoes can ruin any good time spent outdoors because they can bite through clothing and leave them itching for hours after returning from their vacation. One way to prevent this is by bringing bug repellent with you on your trip!

Final Thoughts

We all know camping can be a fun and rewarding experience, but only if we take the time to prepare like a survivalist. If you’re ready to camp like a pro, these five items are must-haves to enjoy your next night under the stars.
